Questions learners often ask before joining.
Starting a language can feel like a big commitment. These answers will help you understand what you need, what to expect and which learning path may suit you.
Still have a question?I am a complete beginner. Can I still join?
Absolutely. The A1 course starts from the alphabet, sounds, greetings and essential sentence patterns. No previous knowledge of French is required.
How much time should I practise outside class?
For most beginners, 20–30 minutes on four or five days a week is effective. Short, regular practice works better than one long weekly study session.
How long will it take me to speak French?
You can begin using simple sentences from the first few classes. Comfortable conversation takes consistent practice and varies by goal, pace and exposure; your educator will set realistic milestones with you.
Are online French classes genuinely effective?
Yes. Live online classes include direct interaction, pronunciation correction, screen-based activities, speaking tasks and shared resources. They are very different from watching recorded lessons alone.
What if I am shy or afraid of making mistakes?
That is one of the most common concerns. You will begin with guided phrases and low-pressure activities, then gradually move towards spontaneous speaking in a supportive environment.
Should I choose a group course or private coaching?
Choose a group course for peer interaction and a shared learning rhythm. Choose 1:1 coaching if you need flexible timing, faster pacing or focused support for school, DELF, travel or work.
What happens if I miss a class?
Make-up and revision support depend on the selected course format. Share your schedule before enrolling so French Shiksha can recommend the most suitable batch or private plan.
Are materials and practice activities included?
Yes. Learners receive level-appropriate worksheets, speaking prompts, revision activities and feedback. The free resource library also provides additional practice material.
